Initial Training SAFA Inspector
Course content
The overall objective of the training course is to present the basic principles of the EC SAFA Programme for those who will be actively engaged in the programme. Either by means of performing SAFA Ramp Checks, managing the SAFA programme in the ECAC Member State or supervising a team of SAFA inspectors. To this end, the training course shall:
- - Present a short summary of the historical background of the ECAC and EC SAFA programme including the main stakeholders (EC, EASA, EASA States, ECAC States); - - Present the legal and regulatory framework of the EC SAFA programme; - - Teach on the information flows, inspection data storage and analysis and lines of communication; - - Review of all applicable procedures; - - In depth review of each item of the SAFA Inspection checklist addressing the applicable ICAO Standard, what to inspect, how to perform the inspection and presenting some general examples of inspection findings; - Teach the SAFA ‘specifics’ of aircraft inspections
Course prerequisites
To have a good understanding of airworthiness and/or operations of aircraft, and be familiar with the methodology of aircraft inspections.
