IMPORTANT:
Participation to this seminar is strictly limited to personnel from military and governmental organisations involved in military aviation safety.
In Europe, as well as worldwide, national defence organisations are paying more and more attention to aviation safety and oversight thereof. This is based on the fact that military and civil operations are increasingly interrelated, as well as the responsibility of military organisations to assure a quantified level of aviation safety towards their personnel and organisations, and to society. Initiatives in this area are illustrated by the founding of the European Military Aviation Authorities Group (EMAAG), of which 8 European countries are members, 5 additional countries are considering membership and 4 countries from outside Europe are associated.
Unlike for civil aviation, international regulations and standards for military aviation safety are rather limited. The various defense organisations have different views on the subject, which leads to diversity in organisational structure of military aviation safety. This indicates a need for a structured approach and scope definition, suitable for each individual military organisation’s requirements.
In this Seminar, the elements of a comprehensive aviation safety system and the applicability thereof in a military environment will be addressed, as well as sharing views on these subjects.
Goals of the Seminar
The Military Aviation Safety Seminar will provide guidelines for the application of civil aviation safety principles in military aviation, by:
- Providing insight into the total aviation safety system;
- Sharing experience with implementation in a military environment;
- Exchanging views, knowledge and experience between participants;
- Providing valuable input for further development of national military aviation safety programs.
