The course will address:
01. Examiner authorisations and requirements – JAR-FCL
- Appointments
- Validity
- Standardisation
- Who may test whom
- Authorisation restrictions
02. Basic examining techniques and role of the examiner
03. Flight test documentation and administration before flight
04. Arrangements for the conduct of skill tests and proficiency checks including:
- Flight test preparation (pre-test requirements: ground examination and training, flight training and competence; pilot licence; medical certificate; results of previous tests)
- Provision of aircraft
05. Conduct of skill tests and proficiency checks
06. Examiner briefing format and techniques (including sample briefing)
- Initial briefing
- Planning
- Weather minima
- Main briefing (purpose of the flight; applicant’s responsibilities; check lists; planning check; test profile; emergencies and abnormal conditions; simulated emergencies; oral questioning)
07. Conduct of Flight Exercises
- Examiner techniques in the air

- Handling of simulated emergencies and abnormal procedures
