SAFA Inspectors Initial and Practical Training Course
Course content
Please be advised about the target group for this course: Inspectors from National Aviation Authorities (NAA) only, and inspectors from Agencies acting on NAA behalf.
The following subjects will be addressed:
- General aspects of the SAFA programme (overview, history, structure, ramp check process, database, future developments, learning points and conclusions)
- The EU legal frame work (SAFA EU directive, EASA regulation, EU Community regulation)
- The ICAO legal framework (ICAO overview, Chicago convention, ICAO annexes & SAFA)
- Process of inspection (Criteria, procedures, subjects, elements, preparation, planning, code of conduct, human factors, findings, etc.)
- Inspection items A/B/C/D (Detailed guidance & instructions on the checklist items)
- EASA SAFA Database hands-on training (Use of input/output, inspectors tool, analysis)
- Conclusions & finalizing (Evaluation, closing remarks and certificate)
The 1-day practical training will take place at the KLM technical facilities located at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport.
A wide body aircraft will be available for the purpose of the mandatory practical training. As much as possible check- items, discussed during the theoretical part of the I&P training, will be demonstrated at the aircraft.
Course prerequisites
SAFA inspectors should ideally be experienced CAA inspectors in the area of Flight operations (Pilot or Flight engineer), Airworthiness (Aircraft Mechanic or Flight engineer), Ground handling, Cabin Safety aspects.
